Project-Based Education in Vocational Education and Training
From Planning to Evaluation - Supported by Digital Tools
The aim of this training is to enhance the competences of teachers and mentors working in vocational education in the field of application of project-based teaching and learning.
Throughout the course with the experts’ support, participants explore the distinctive features and elements of project pedagogy, subsequently analysing the relationship between projects and the Training and Outcomes Requirements. The training highlights the connection between Erasmus+ mobility and project pedagogy and analyses project-based cooperation between dual training companies and vocational education schools.
Furthermore, it presents various assessment methods and tools that can be applied in project-based education, with a particular focus on digital assessment platforms. Experts introduce one of the digital project planning applications, Trello, in details, in which participants design their own project. Besides listening to the presentation, participants engage interactively in group work: sharing their project experiences with peers and planning projects together focusing on one trade, while considering multiple perspectives.
Erasmus+ Project Management
At the training, participants learn how to prepare a project plan:
- analyse and assess the institutional needs,
- identify strategic project objectives, and
- associate appropriate activities and indicators with the detailed project goals.
They define the framework of the project time and budget, determine which quality management elements can be implemented within the project, as well as identify potential risks that may arise. Participants understand the responsibilities of a project manager and the competences that are required to fulfil these responsibilities, as well as how to assemble a project team. They learn how to elaborate a learning outcomes-based work programme, considering vocational education and training regulations, and how to efficiently measure project indicators using various measurement and evaluation methods and tools.
Additionally, they explore how to integrate measurement results into the everyday operation of the organisation.
Finally, they receive suggestions for the effective dissemination of project results. Alongside the presentations, participants work interactively in groups, sharing their Erasmus+ project experiences and planning Erasmus+ projects.
